John Hughes named CEO of CCCD

John brings an extensive business management and technical background that will be applied to marketing of DirectHit Tests
Mr. Hughes is also president and founder of Rhythm & Hues Studios, a leading producer of computer generated character animation and visual effects for entertainment and advertising. Headquartered in Los Angeles with additional facilities in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kuala Lumpur, Rhythm & Hues has approximately 1000 employees worldwide. John is committed to providing a collaborative and supportive work environment in pursuit of the highest levels of technical excellence.
John will assume his new duties immediately. He will succeed Dr. Paul Ts’o, the founder of CCCD, who passed away earlier this month.

Gastrointestinal Cancer DRIT data presented at 2009 ADAPT Congress

9/23/09 – CCC Diagnostics in conjunction with Dr. Naimish Pandya of the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center and Dr. David Van Echo of HarborView Hospital in Baltimore, MD presented a poster describing developmental clinical studies of the DirectHit™ (DRIT) Gastrointestinal Cancer Panel at the ADAPT Congress in Washington D.C. The retrospective studies encompass prediction of response to drugs used in the treatment of esophageal, rectal, colon, pancreatic gastric and duodenal cancers.

CCCD Launches CLIA Compliant Diagnostic Testing Laboratory

06/03/2009 – CCC Diagnostics in conjunction with Dr. Naimish Pandya of the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center and Dr. David Van Echo of Harborview Hospital in Baltimore, MD published an abstract describing clinical studies of the GI cancer DRIT in the Journal of Clinical Oncology 27, 2009 (suppl; abstr e15079).

10/21/2008 – CCC Diagnostics has received a Certificate of Registration from CLIA and a Medical Lab Permit from Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Health Care Quality.

TEDCO Approves Second Round of Funding for CCC Diagnostics

10/01/2008 – The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) has approved a second round of financing for CCC Diagnostics, LLC (CCCD) through the Maryland Technology Transfer Fund.

The award of $ 75,000 will support further clinical studies of CCCD’s Drug Response Indicator Test (DRIT) in collaboration with local hospitals and universities.

The Drug Response Indicator Test (DRIT) utilizes proprietary platform technology and delivers in one test a detailed profile of the tumor’s response rate to 5-7 FDA approved anticancer drugs. Armed with the advanced diagnostics, physicians are able to treat patients more effectively and with greater speed. CCCD’s commitment is to “saving lives and life savings.”

The fund is meant to encourage partnerships between Maryland businesses, universities and federal laboratories to bring new technologies to market.
